Re: Possible dobbers

I'm not looking for winners only for a good trading opportunity. Less is best for me.

Re: Trade gone awry - what happened?

Racing Post details as follows: Rampant Lion (withdrawn; unruly in stalls) R4: Rampant Lion was withdrawn. Price at time of withdrawal 11/4. Rule 4 applies to all bets - deduction 25p in the pound. This has happened to me on a couple of occasions, usually when I am using a bot. Betfair will have red...

Re: Steamers Vs Drifters

I only gave anecdotal evidence about this. Many a time a horse has drifted and hasn't done well for me. Conversely, as expected the market can get it wrong and a drifter can race very well. Steamers are the same, some win and some lose but it is very hit and miss. If you think ppl are betting or lay...

Re: Lay dobbing ?

Tony I just use patternform Pace ratings of 7 to 9 on a horse that has odds between 3 and 5. I then use the strategy outlined above in my reply to waccoe. In longer races if the horse does not appear to be going out and is not running to Pace, ie it is running as a front runner then I look to come o...

Re: Lay dobbing ?

waccoe Geeks toy is my preferred trading tool. I always start off with the maxim ' what am I willing to lose?' So £50 is a non starter for me. I would look to lay a horse with a pace of 7 to 9 for a fixed liability of £10. For example a horse 4@3.35. I would then back the horse 5@2.68 for an all gre...

Re: Lay dobbing ?

I never watch them inplay. The lag between the odds on screen and the race itself make it very difficult to get bets on in time to react. I have on very few odd occasions let the bet run as a lay but as I say I've also been caught when horses out at 60 come in to win. Granted not very often but it s...
