course (+distance) form in terms of speed or multi at any all-weather track is usually a pretty good guide, although I prefer to look at RanTo @ Kempton
pace is pretty important on a/w, but you'd have to look at geegeez or something for pace maps

For Class, I would say go above the class of today's race as well ,so if it's a Class 4, choose Class1 all the way to Class 4.

how about a METER that you need to fill in the form of donations every year, so work out how much it costs for upkeep and time etc., and then donations can keep the meter filled up and the site remains free. a bit like Wikipedia, people can donate to keep it open rather than a subscription thing.......
