Stormin Tom 1st HCP debut 28/04/2014

Nottingham 28/04/15 Good - Firm 10f
Stormin Tom (12/1) looked to all intents and purposes a little unsure on Handicap debut.. he hit the lead early on , but seemed to be hanging right at 5f out, after which he was headed and was dropping back and actually looked all in, however he recovered himself and began to close from 2f out- went to lead over 1f out, and powered away in last 100 yards, ran on well to win by 3.75 lengths clear of the second placed horse (needs some niggles ironing out.. the race was won 2m.13.52secs which is 1.67 slower than the course average

********* posted by Early Bird in another thread - should be here **************

one of my Eye Catchers Stormin Tom (see Nottingham 28/4/15 is entered in the 2:10 at Doncaster on Monday, although i intend to have a good look at the mechanics of the race, there are a couple of questions, that spring to mind straight off , primarily why this race?, the forecast going is given as soft and with no proven credibility over this going, that in itself is an eyebrow raiser, it's a step up in class, Distance and official rating from 50 -62, it is still early in the declaration stage and he and a few may yet drop out, if he is still in by tea-time tomorrow i will take a closer look, and if he does stay in someone at the tim easterby yard must know something as to why he is suitable
