I selected this in the Victoria Cup expecting it to trail blaze. There was quite a headwind against them, so it's possible that the change of tactics was to get some cover, or that in their last start at Haydock they had been forced to sit slightly off the pace due to a high draw on the round course.
Anyway for whatever reason, after Lincoln had pinged the stalls he was heavily restrains into the last half dozen (of 26) of the field. Travelled really strongly as it has done in the past, but found his way blocked between the 2f and 1f pole (at this point the winner went from being 2l behind to 2l up), and had to wait to follow the winner through, but finished best making up 3l on the winner in the last 3/4 of a furlong (6-7 length on the rest of the field) flattening out slightly in the last 30 metres (looked to have finished it's run and I'm not sure it would have picked the winner up with another 100 metres).

A stiff 6f or easy 7f might suit, but will go up about 6-8 pounds for this though.
Still a good dobber in the future - consistent.

Also the Mick Channon stable has only had 4 winners from it's last 60 runners (0 from it's last 30).
