Today's Racing Pointers

Postby racingdemon » Sat Mar 11, 2017 9:40 am

Hi All

I thought I would give out some pointers on the days racing.

Trainer/Jockey Combo
Ayr 2.10 Progressive Drive (13/8) WON
(3 wins from 7 rides over last 2 years)
Wol 3.15 My Target (7/1)Lost
(Jockey has won 4 times from 5 on this horse)
Wol 3.50 First Moon (5/6)Lost
(6 wins from 17 SR 35% P/L +11.00)

Trend Horses (at least 4 trends in their form)
Ayr 2.10 Pregressive Drive (13/8) WON (8 Trends)
Ayr 2.45 Pistol Park (11/10) (4) Lost
Ayr 3.20 Takingrisks (13/8) (5) Lost
Here 3.25 Aintree My Dream (2/5) (6) WON
Here 4.00 Plaisir Damour (11/4) Lost (5)

Patternform Horses (Hcps/Class 1 races)
Sandwon 2.25 Upswing (7/2)Lost
Much better last time out, prefers right-handed tracks and smaller fields
Sandown 3.00 Kayf Blanco (9/1)Lost
Always seems to run well in these big handicaps and could be a good e/w shout
Wolves 4.25 Judical (7/1)Lost
Probably needed the run latest but is 3 from 6 on tight turning tracks
Wolves 5.00 Ravens Quest (9/1)Lost
Speed figures are much better here then anywhere else so Tapeta clearly suits this horse

Long Shots
Sandown 1.50 Another Venture (16/1) Lost
Won well here last time out and looks over priced

Form Follow
Ayr 2.45 Pistol Park (5/4)Lost
(Previous race: 1 wins from 2 runs +2.33
Sandown 4.45 Twenty Eight Guns (100/30)Lost
(Previous race: 2 wins from 4 runs +10.00)

Five Star Form
Sandown 3.35 Cap Soleil (9/2) WON
Unbeaten in two starts, battles well and her win last time out over Daphne Du Clos reads well and that horse won next time out in listed company.

Banker Bet
Hereford 3.25 Aintree My Dream(2/5)WON
Fell latest, was winning well before that and trainer looks to have found a weak race.

Remember they are only pointers and it's best to pick out what you think will run well but if you want to back them blindly then you can be re-assured they have been well researched.

I see where you're coming from with - Another Venture - in the 1.50, but I quite like the other venture - Prime Venture - for an EW at 16-1. He managed a 6l 2nd behind Constantine Bay off levels weights at Chepstow, although he was flattered by the winning distance, that runner is now rated 142. In it's next race it dropped back to 16f and was outpaced. Last time it finished 5l 4th in a 28K ascot hch where the winner is now 6th fav for the Coral Cup and the third had finished 2nd in the Lanzarote, so it looks strong form.

He was much improved lto at Ascot but I question his willingness to go through with the run right to the line and he's had plenty of chances. Apart from Constantine Bay (who won easily that day) nothing really has franked any of the form of his runs.

I'm not saying Another Venture races have work out too but I like his attitude to keep going and course form must count.

Thanks for your comment.

Maybe we can both get - My Target - home in the 3.15 - I backed it last time - on for a 5 timer - can't resist :)

A mixed day and there were winners in there especially with the Five Star Form and Banker Bet having one qualifier each and they both won.

I need to iron the kinks out on patternform but I'm getting there slowly as a horse I dismissed actually won so need to research this area a bit more.

Should be able to post tomorrow's later :)
