That is, higher pace figures will frequently result in lower speed figures. Higher speed figures will frequently result from lower pace figures.

How would this work on a downhill track like epsom or goodwood?

In touch in midfield, closed to press leader over 1f out, shaken up to lead 1f out, stayed on and forged ahead inside final furlong, just held on

PS : RED = EARLY SPEED; BLUE = PACE; GREEN = FINAL SPEED
