Dolos and Mercian Prince, based on recent speed performances in good class races, represent good value at current prices
Re: Newbury 2.40 strong pace
Newbury is a real galloping course, flat sweeping turns with long straights. I don't think it particularly favours any type of running style, but long striding runners would be suited. Looking at the pace chart I don't think there is any single runner who must lead, so I don't think it will be a breakneck pace, but neither will they hang about. A real fair race is likely where the best horses are likely to run their races.
I think Paul Nichols has a very strong hand and wouldn't be surprised if the winner comes from one if his three entries - Dolos, San Benedeto, or Warriors Tale
