Well, yesterday's three bankers and a hopeful turned out to be “four fanciful selections”, but undaunted I'll move to a slightly different tack today.

Each way double.

Both today's selections finished second in their respective races last year and their combined priced give a 2/1 return on the entire EW stake if they are both placed.

Worc 2.20 – Howlongisafoot –7-1 (12-1 overnight) (BF Sports 1/5 first 4) - fin 6th of 13
This fellow was beaten a head in this last year carrying 11-9 off a rating of 97. Today he carries 10-3 off a rating of 76. How come the fall? - he ran two chases afterwards off 102 and 101, he then went back over hurdles and did particularly poorly pu,pu,pu,pu,7,12 – took him from 99 down to 77 which was his last mark where he showed a return for form with a 3rd of 13 beaten 9l. He's racing off a 20 pound lower mark today than he has ever raced as a chaser – so a place is a distinct possibility.

Bri – 4.40 – Toni Star – 15-2 (6-1 overnight) (1/5 first 3) WON at 6-1
This one has gone the other way in the betting. In last years race he was beaten a length at 6-1 off a rating of 57 - 59 today. This fellow has been consistent since with three AW wins all at Wolves in the meantime. His last two starts have been in class 5 and 6 on Gf and GS and he's finishes placed in third on both cases in fields of 8 and 10 at 10-1 and 6-1. Just the dead 8 runners today so we really don't want a non-runner.

The bet lost, but it was nice to have a winner

This time I'll have a couple of EW as well – so 6 bets – 2 ew single, and an EW double

A couple of no-hopers today – just as I like em.

Redcar 5:00 - Midnight Warrior – 33-1 Paddy Power/Betfair
Second in this race last year on his final start at a surprising 5-2 fav (had been 25-1 and 28-1 on two previous starts). Has shown form on it's second last race that year when a half length second in an Amateur race. Has similarly show it's best form this year on it's last but one run when beaten under 3.5 lengths. A bit of market support would boost confidence a bit. Interestingly today's fav finish 3rd in last year race, and the pair have a long history of running against each other.

Yarmouth 3:40 - Right About Now – 33-1 Paddy Power/ Betfair (now 16-1 with BF)
Won this race last year when a 7-1 shot, having finished 3rd and 1st on it's two previous starts. Been in dire form this year, but showed his first form after wind surgery (although it did take a few runs), and he's again had wind surgery in july/aug of this year. He actually ran better than his finishing position last time (traded down to 15 from 37) on the AW, and there is a chance that the wind surgery will give him a chance to repeat last years run.

Both Unplaced
