Wolverhampton 21st jan

Postby gpnt » Sun Jan 20, 2019 10:13 pm

7.55 1 mile
This race has a great deal of pace so a strong hold up type is most likely to win I think man of verve stands out,but could use some help here, turn of the tears and aljunood also stand out so perhaps this race is best avoided, someone with more experience is welcome to add their views

Not a race to get involved too heavily, but I have backed Turn On The Tears already. Trainer is 4 from 14 here (but he has 4 runners here today), and Morris is 3 from 6 for him. Horse’s only win to date came here 3 years ago, didn’t run badly at Dundalk last time. Man Of Verve has to be main danger, Big Bad Lol always manages to find one too good so can’t have him for win purposes.

I agree a tricky race, here are my numbers for this race

Man of Verve is the top for form over conditions, with a score of 34, with Big Bad Lol and Turn On The Tears 2nd and 3rd ranked, from the numbers dangers would be Arrowzone as has two factors in the R8 Count, however so does Turn On The Tears, looking at the Patternform Place Score & Rankings, Big Bad Lol scores 36 (top score) along with Mossy's Lodge, therefore likely consenters for me are:

    Man of Verve
    Turn On The Tears
    Big Bad Lol
    Arrowzone

With possible risks from Stand N Deliver & Pecheurs De Perles

For me the top 3 on the Win Rank are so close to call with several dangers afoot, I would therefore not be playing in the race, and if I were to at small stakes I would go with Aqua Libre E/W for value and given this horse is 4th ranked on the Win Score, would be worthy of small wager at a big price

My Goliath was looking good with three winners at decent prices then came the AW races and 5 losers perhaps we would all be better off sticking to the jumps.

Thank you for highlighting this race FormStudent, I took the plunge and got 7.8 on Aqua Libre on the Place Market on the Exchange, nice little win, had a few quid on Arrowzone too as was a top R8 rated on my numbers, and gpnt, a Goliath, Wow! now that's a big bet when it comes in!
