4.10 Haydock

Postby GMBing » Tue Jun 23, 2020 10:37 pm

Data protection 12/1
If you ignore his three winter outings on the all weather often at a distance that was not Ideal for winning but perfect for keeping him race fit but instead look at his turf form last summer you might conclude like me that the bookie's are asleep at the wheels on this one and 12/1 BOG Bet365 is a massive price for this real strong contender.

Looks like they've woken up - 6-1'ish clear (just about) 2nd fav.
Looking at the new "Market order" tool (https://www.patternform.co.uk/cards/2020/jun/sporder_2020-06-24.htm), the fav is obviously open to loads of improvement being lightly raced, but he must have had problems having been off for 20 months. He's been fav 3 times and lost two of those when odds on.

All Data Protections wins have come when he's been close up in the market, but not fav. In fact he's been 2nd fav in 5 races on Betfair and won 4 of them!

Indeed you could have dobbed that one without the stress of the actual race. But as you probably know that's not my game so the bookie's will have to endure the actual race to get out of jail from my bets.
And as you say with the fav there are far more questions than answers. It is a race where the fav has to be taken on.
