Risk Management

Not the most exciting topic but an important one.

I'd be interested to see what opinions people have about the amount they risk on a typical IR trade and if they use stop losses - be that a physical one or a mental one?

I got some great advice where it was suggested that no more than 2% of the bank on 1 trade and a stop loss of 5%-10% of that amount.

I find that for some of my selections, that the dob isn't acheived till later in the race so I don't use a stop loss there as I'm assuming I won't get out but for a front runner or prominent horse I exit halfway through the race - especially if it's not won or looked like winning before.
